Lunes:
Today we had to head up to Puebla to renew the Green Card of Elder Martinez because he is from El Salvador. On the way up there we got to watch a movie called Fin, which was super weird. It was basically about the end of the world and people just kept on disappearing until the last two people sailed off into the ocean then end credits rolled on to the screen it was wierd. However it was super cool to see the new Mission offices and talk to Presidente Stellmon for awhile.
Martes:
We found a new menos activo named Israel, who has been inactive for a few years. so we are trying to find out how we can help him return to the Church. We also had a good lesson with Elizabeth and Francisco our golden investigators. We had invited them to baptism the week before and they had said they would think about it. Then last Sunday their Hermanadors or Friends of the Church showed her the baptismal font. After that they all sat down and talked for awhile and started bearing their testimonies. Elizabeth said by the end all of them were crying and she had accepted baptism. We were super happy but they live in a different area. So we had to pass them over to other missionaries, but at least these other missionaries have a super cool baptism. I also hope that we will be invited to her baptism because she was such a perfect investigator.
Miercoles:
We did intercambios today with the elders from Chilac named Elder Nunley (The elder that worked in the temple with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson) and Elder McCombs. It was super cool to head down to their pueblo and see what a white wash is like. They have about 30 members asisting their branch and I dont know why but I felt a lot of potential for their area. They basically get to start from scratch and build up this tiny brach from nothing. What a opportunity!! We also did not have to many citas. However when we went to one house and knocked on the door nobody answered except for the kids. At first we were thinking "Oh well the investigators arnt here lets go and try to find someone else" but then we thought of the story of Jesus " Suffer the little children and deny them not for such is the Kingdom of God" So we taught a short lesson on how to pray. It was a cool sweet little lesson to teach like Jesus. We may look at others and say they wont understand, they are not old enough, we are wasting the time of more important people, but Gods ways are not our ways. Some people will accept the gospel through a whole bunch of little acts throughout their life. Elder Nunley and I also had a super cool Noche de Hogar with some members and some investigators. We were playing the game pictionary with scripture stories and one of the investigators kids did not know all the stories like the adults do. For some reason he always came to me to ask what he needed to draw. It was another cool experience that I think God was telling me that even the children can learn.
Jueves:
We had a bunch of different lessons with Recent Conversos named Clarrissa and Luis and also with Menos activos named Ivett and Almaquio. Almost all of these people are super busy and dont have time to go to church, but we are hoping our messages will touch their hearts and they will want to return to the church.
Viernes:
We had some fun doing service with Hma Canaan again. She is the Grandma of our area. So before we started she cooked us a huge breakfast with mamelas. We were so full. We helped her set up some shelves and moved a ton of her old stuff. We had another lesson with MA Odet and we had the opportunity to bring our Mission Leader. It was an Ok lesson until the very end when everyone testified about Eternal Families then it got super powerful. We were also able to attend the party of Elotes of our ward because some investigators came. The Elotes were super GOOD and the investigators said they felt very welcomed into the ward.
Sabado:
We taught a Abuelita de 90 anos named Felipa. It was a super cool experience to sing for her to lift her spirits and teach her a short verse. She is such a happy person always grinning and joking around with us. We also had my first classes de ingles which were kind of fun.
Domingo:
We showed up to church about 40 min before the sacrament would start and the second counselor sideled up to us and asked us to give a ten min talk. I dont think i did have bad for how nervous I was. I talked about how the members of the church need to be like the pebbles del hermano de Jared they need to provide light to everyone so that everyone can make it to the promised land in one piece.
Sorry that the last few days are so short ran out of time Love you all!
